Simon the Pit Bull/Boxer
Representing Shelter “Monsters” advocating for dogs in need & rescues working tirelessly to find loving homes
Fostered and later adopted in 2012, Simon and his very recognizable feature is advocating for shelter dogs.
Simon and his siblings (and mother) were minutes away from being euthanized when they were only six weeks old. Thanks to twin cities-based Secondhand Hounds, the entire litter, and mother, were rescued, fostered and adopted. Without the incredible volunteers at Secondhand Hounds, Simon and his littermates wouldn’t be here today.
Simon has a unique pair of eyebrows that seem to be a great conversation started wherever we go. Thanks to his cartoon-like looks, he tends to soften peoples’ image of pit bulls. People adore him, and he loves the attention he receives. He’s often compared to Groucho Marx and Charlie Chaplin. He simply soaks up the tummy rubs, hugs and kisses he receives from everyone.
Life is a constant adventure with Simon. He joins his three canine siblings on long walks, adventures, and frequent treks to the pet store. He loves to run, play, swim, and he’s recently taken up the sport of dock diving. Simon is a true example of how great shelter dogs are.
