Representing Rescued “Monsters” changing hearts & minds through therapy work & responsible ownership
I am a Therapy Dog with Pet Partners and blood donor on a mission to change people’s perception about bully breeds.
I was dumped on Christmas Eve 2011, in a cardboard box on the side of a very busy 6 lane interstate highway. Luckily a rescue found me and my siblings. For the next several weeks I was fostered in a home with other dogs and cats. That is until I picked out my new Mom at the “My Furry Valentine” adoption event. I knew she needed me as much as I needed her. It was LOVE at first sight.
From the beginning Mom knew that I had a great temperament and that I could help change people’s minds about the breed. I also had BIG goals. I wanted to be a breed advocate and to become a therapy dog so that everyone else could see what wonderful loving dogs pit bulls are. At first I encountered a lot of resistance from various trainers and organizations that laughed and said that Pit bulls don’t make good therapy dogs. That just made me want to prove everyone wrong! I was a “wild child” back then so it took me 2 years and a lot of love, positive reinforcement training and hard work, but I did it. I proved them all wrong!
I am a Canine Good Citizen (CGC), A Therapy Dog, an Emotional Support Dog, a blood donor and an advanced tricks dog. I am on a mission to change hearts and minds, one paw at a time. I do this by educating, being polite in public and showing everyone what a good breed ambassador I am.
