Dexter the Pibble

Representing Perfectly Imperfect “Monsters” changing perceptions of disabled dogs, advocate of training & pitbull education

I am a happy Pit Bull who loves everyone and want to change peoples’ hearts!

Hi! My name is Dexter. I found myself in a cage at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter when I was just 2 months old. I was picked up as a stray with my furmama and siblings and we were all very sick with Parvovirus and malnourished. Sadly, soon my furmama and most of my siblings passed to the rainbow bridge, they were very weak and didn’t have strength to fight the Parvo.

After being adopted by a young couple, surviving Parvo and the vets saying I would never walk/run/jump, 3 months later I got Distemper. But this time, I wasn’t alone, I had my Humans to help me pull through this mess!

I had partial paralysis in my hind legs due to the Parvo, I have achieved my CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and Advanced CGC, I know every command and trick you can think of, and I have a “bombproof” temperament, I always stay calm and responsive to my Humans, no matter what happens! I also do sports like Dock Diving! My legs won’t stop me from having fun!

I provide dogs who are struggling with aggression or insecurity issues. My demeanor soothes their anxiety and helps them become more confident with other dogs.
